So, there is a book called "Green for Life" that Angela recommended to me a long time ago. We were talking a lot about the raw food movement at the time. The title of the book stayed with me, and I got frustrated waiting for the book from the library. I bought it on the Kindle recently, and I read it in a couple of days. Pretty fascinating stuff.
She makes some tremendous claims about curing cancer and such, but I am mostly looking for a way to get in the veggies early in the day. I have tried:
- Mango and parsley
- Kale and blackberries
- Cherries and spinach
So, here is the bad news. I am going to have to sneak into Helen's house and steal her Vitamix blender. I am spending my extra cash on music classes right now, so there is no way I can afford that blender. My Osterizer just isn't cutting it with the kale. My next trick is to freeze it first. Stay tuned.
I will say that I feel pretty great after drinking the whole smoothie. Especially before the gym. Don't really buy that it might cure cancer, but I would be psyched if it helped me kick my caffeine habit !!
