So, it may not be so exciting to you, but it has made my week. I made a pizza and slid it from my peel to my pizza stone in the oven today. Really. And it was gluten-free. And it was good.
Far better than any other dough that I have tried yet, which mostly have the consistency of frosting. I was sure that my pizza stone days were over...that is, assuming that we stay gluten-free.
This is the Ciancanelli favorite -- pepperoni with black olives. And then I have to make something for myself. My new favorite is pesto and broccoli pizza.
Wow -- it was good. Really good. I am in heaven.
AND -- it was easy! It is a recipe from the Artisan bread in five minutes people. I hail to them, dough gods.
And lots of credit to my new best friend, the Gluten-free girl. She doesn't know that we are best friends. Not yet. But from what I can tell, she has about 50 new best friends every day.
Since the pictures are uploading so easily, I will include some pics from Luca's 7th birthday for my Italian family...
Luca's birthday cupcakes this year were made from Chocolate Zucchini Banana bread - gluten free!
And Luca is fully experimenting with his new profession -- being an inventor. He took apart a remote control airplane and converted it to a new airplane, made of cardboard. It has also become an underwater boat plane. Check it out...
what is your italian cook book's name, and does it include the pizza recipe? i have two coworkers with family members that are gluten free. they would be interested!
